GRIEVE.

A Space for Healing

Brown Girls

I didn't choose grief, grief chose me. After losing my father, grandmother, sister, brother, uncle and a host of friends, I found that there wasn't a safe space for brown and black women to process their grief in an environment where there was cultural competency and compassion.

I created Brown Girls Grieve to speak a word of comfort to you beautiful women who are weary, discouraged, grieving or need hope and assurance that your heart can heal and most importantly  you can be heard.

As a bereaved person I know, the best way to find healing is to do it in community.

Brown Girls Grieve is a space for you.

“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation.
Healing is an act of communion.”

We need a space to grieve.

We need a space to heal.

We need a space to be heard and not judged.

We need a space where we could share,

what others don't understand.

We need a space where others can support us.

We need a space where we can be educated about our journey.

We need a space where we can process and heal
from the unexpected trauma we have experienced.

We need a space where we can be our authentic self.

Brown Girls HEAL.
